April showers bring May flowers, but in the meantime, we’re stuck with lots and lots of rain (and mud
). That’s why Messenger Library has events like Teen Movies! Coming up this Saturday, May 2 at 2:00 pm, the library will be showing “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” on the big screen, complete with popcorn and soda.
We’ve also got some awesome new teen books and DVD’s to keep you busy until the rain stops. Check out Season One of Gossip Girl, the newest Naruto box set, or classics like She’s All That and Dirty Dancing.
Looking for a good book? Zombies are the new vampires, so get infected with the dystopian thriller/romance The Forest of Hands and Teeth by: Carrie Ryan, the small-town spookfest that is Zombie Blondes by: Brian James, or the “differently biotic” teens of Generation Dead by: Dan Waters. Hey, at least you’ll be prepared for the zombie apocalypse, right?
If zombies aren’t your thing, we’ve also got hot new reads like Jumped by: Rita Williams-Garcia (Dominique plans to jump Trina, but Leticia isn’t sure if she should tell Trina or just not get involved), Meltdown by: Andy McNab and Robert Rigby (the 4th book about brothers Danny and Fergus who must help MI5 to stop a new, deadly drug to clear their own names), and The King’s Rose by: Lisa M. Libby (Catherine Howard becomes Henry VIII’s fifth wife knowing that secrets in her past could lead her to the same tragic end as Henry’s first 4 wives).
