Life after Eclipse

 

Yes, there is life after Eclipse, even though it might seem cruel and unfair since August 2nd is still weeks away.  Here are a few things to tide you over until Breaking Dawn is released…

Book of a Thousand Days by: Shannon Hale (YF HALE)

               Dashti, a poor girl who has been trained in the healing songs of her people, comes to the city looking for a job.  Luckily, she finds a place as Lady Saren’s new maid, but unluckily, Lady Saren has just been sentenced to 7 years locked in a tower as punishment for refusing to marry Lord Khasar.  The girls suffer through heat, cold, lack of food, attacks by rats and visits from Lord Khasar.  Will Lady Saren’s girlhood love, Lord Tegus, rescue them?  Will Dashti and Lady Saren remain in the tower forever?  Or will they find a way out (and more adventures) on their own?  Beautiful writing and an amazing story!

Wicked Lovely by: Melissa Marr (YF MARR)

The Squad: Perfect Cover by: Jennifer Lynn Barnes (YF BARNES)

               Before the Princess Diaries series, Meg Cabot wrote under the psudeonym of Jenny Carroll and brought us the Mediator series.  Suze’s mother has just remarried, so they are moving from New York to California.  Suze tries to adjust to her new step-family, her new school, and her new house, but it’s a little hard what with the ghost of a hot guy in her room and a really angry ghost haunting her school.  You see, Suze is a mediator who communicates with the dead and often helps them move on to the afterlife.  Will Suze be able to figure out how to rid her school of its ghostly menace?  And more importantly, will Suze ever learn her new “roommate’s” secrets?  Series continues with Ninth Key.

Bras and Broomsticks by: Sarah Mlynowski (YF MLYNOWSKI)

               Rachel’s life sucks.  Her father is getting remarried, her best friend Jewel has become one of the popular girls, and she doesn’t have a date to the Spring Fling.  To add insult to injury, her younger sister Miri finds out that she is a witch.  Rachel convinces Miri to use some of that magic to improve Rachel’s life.  Unfortunately, Miri’s spells don’t always quite work out as planned…..Series continues with Frogs and French Kisses.
